NZ Playhouse Theatre is visiting Stella Maris in week one of Term 4 to present a show called Treasure Island. Please see details below.

The NZ Playhouse presents ‘Treasure Island’ Pirates! Parrots! Peglegs! What more could you want in a rollicking tale of high adventure on the high seas? Oh yes, of course… buried treasure! And lots of it! Packed with crazy characters and sea shanties, this hilarious interactive adaptation  of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic adventure will have everyone laughing from start to finish. This show is for all students, Friday 13th October the cost is $5.50 per student. Payment can be made at the school office via or  online 12 3046 0362238 00. Please put child’s name and show as reference.

If your child is interested in playing basketball in term 4 Stella Lakers are looking for two more players to join their team. See below

Games are held on a Thursday afternoon at Stanmore Bay Leisure Centre and are 20 minutes long. There is a schedule for games starting at 3.30pm and the last game starting at 7.25pm, however your child is only required to attend their game time slot.


Fees are approximately $65.


If your child is a year 3/4 student and would like to play please contact Katrina on 021 385 919  as soon as possible before the end of term.

Dance – On Friday 15th September at 12pm the Matikao and Mokehu teams are going to perform their dance that they have learnt with Omar.

Interschool Cross Country Year 5-6

The calendars and diaries make the perfect Christmas present for loved ones and the cards are such an amazing personal touch for any special occasion needing a card!

Cross country will be able to go ahead tomorrow (weather permitting). See below for the race order.

The cross country begins at 1pm. 


The race order is as follows: 


Year 6 girls, Year 6 boys, Year 5 girls, Year 5 boys, Year 4 girls, Year 4 boys, Year 3 girls, Year 3 boys, Year 2 girls, Year 2 boys, Yr0/1 girls, Yr 0/1 boys. 


We are unable to give an exact time for the start of each race – they will start when the previous one finishes. 


Children may come to school in their house colours but please make sure they have their uniform to change into after their race in case they get wet and muddy.

This evening a ute crashed into the school fence on Silverdale St, by the senior playground. Fortunately no one was injured. At this stage the vehicle is still there as the tow truck was unable to remove it. 


The field, senior playground area and the bike track will be closed tomorrow while we assess the full damage and check the stability of the fence. 


We will make a decision by the end of the school day tomorrow, Thursday, whether or not cross country can go ahead.

Feast of The Assumption of Our Lady Mass is tomorrow, Tuesday 15th August 9.30am at St John’s Church, Orewa. Please do come and join us.

Children are to wear a tee shirt in their house colour. Class teachers will be able to advise what house your child is in.

Teacher Interviews are taking place this Wednesday 19th July. School will be finishing at 12.20pm. Please see bus information below.

The Bayes 22 bus to Gulf Harbour will run at the earlier time of 12.20pm. All other buses will run at the regular time. If you want your child to catch the later buses they will need to be booked in to sKids until the bus arrives in the afternoon. 

A reminder that there is school interviews this Wednesday 19th July and school closes at 12.20pm. Interview bookings close today at 1pm.

Seesaw

Seesaw is a platform for student engagement that inspires students of all ages to do their best, and saves teachers time! Students use creative tools to take pictures, draw, record videos and more to capture learning in a portfolio. Teachers find or create activities to share with students.The Seesaw platform is used for homework activities as well as in class work.

Parents are also notified by the class teacher about classroom and school activities and events via the Seesaw platform. Parents can also Seesaw their child’s teacher.

 

Families only have access to their child’s journal. This means you will see student work tagged with your child’s name and posts the teacher tags with ‘Everyone’. Families will also be able to see any comment made by another user on their child’s journal posts.
